Transfer Manager

Transfer Manager is the lightweight cross-document copy tool for moving sheets or view templates from the active Revit document into one or more other open project files. It does not expose a full Transfer Project Standards replacement surface for filters, line styles, materials, or other standards categories. The shipped workflow is intentionally narrower: pick destination documents, choose Sheets or View Templates, then execute a real transfer or dry run.

Supported transfer modes:

• Sheets: Copy selected sheets from the active document, including viewports and guide-grid related transfer behavior handled by the transfer core
• View Templates: Copy selected view templates from the active document into one or more destination documents
• Dry Run: Preview the operation without committing the destination-document changes

How to use:

1. Open the source model you want to copy from and at least one destination model you want to copy into.
2. Run Transfer Manager from the Export panel.
3. Select one or more destination documents when prompted.
4. Choose whether to transfer Sheets or View Templates.
5. Pick the sheets or templates to copy from the active document.
6. Choose Transfer or Dry Run at the confirmation step.

Operational notes:

• The active document is the source; the first dialog only asks for destination documents.
• Sheets and View Templates run as separate workflows with their own selection dialogs.
• Dry run rolls back the transaction group in the destination document after previewing the operation.

Tips:

• Use View Templates mode when seeding a new project file with template standards from a reference model.
• Use Sheets mode when moving documentation packages or setup sheets between live project files.
• Use Dry Run first when you need to understand the destination impact before committing.
