Proxy Analyzer
Identify hidden proxy elements that inflate your file size and generate unexplained warnings. Proxy Analyzer detects and quantifies proxy elements — placeholder objects that Revit creates when a loaded add-in is no longer present. Proxies are invisible in views and contribute no geometry, but they occupy storage, generate warnings, and can interfere with exports and coordination workflows. Large numbers of proxies often indicate that scan-to-BIM software, structural analysis tools, or MEP coordination add-ins were used on the model at some point and were later uninstalled.
Diagnostic Metrics
Proxy Analyzer computes four composite scores to characterize the proxy situation in the model:

A DRS above 90 indicates the model is in good shape. A DRS below 70 warrants remediation before delivery.
Visualization
The tool renders results in an interactive D3.js chart embedded in a WebView2 panel. The chart shows proxy distribution by originating add-in namespace, allowing you to identify which tool generated the most proxies. Hover over chart segments to see exact counts and percentages.
Exporting Results
Click Export JSON or Export CSV to save the full proxy inventory. JSON exports include the complete diagnostic metric set and are suitable for attaching to QA/QC reports. CSV exports list each proxy element by ID, originating namespace, and category, which is useful for tracking remediation progress.
Removal Guidance
Proxy Analyzer does not delete elements directly. It surfaces the information needed to make an informed removal decision. For bulk removal, use Wipe Hub after reviewing the proxy inventory. In some cases, reinstalling the originating add-in and then using its own cleanup tools produces cleaner results than direct deletion.
